Note from Spain's Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, Lothar Lahn, to Foreign Minister Pérez-Llorca (Bonn, 28 February 1981), transmitting and attaching the translation of a telegram from German Foreign Minister Hans-Dietrich Genscher expressing the FRG's solidarity with Spain and Spanish democracy after the failed 23-F coup. The Ambassador summarises that Genscher expresses satisfaction at the triumph of constitutional order and confidence in Spain's democratic future.

sentir en estos momentos tras el desenlace sin
derramamiento de sangre del intento de golpe de
estado. La joven democracia española ha superado
una dura prueba. Su Majestad el Rey, el pueblo y las
instituciones del Estado solidariamente han defendido
el orden constitucional. El nuevo Gobierno de su
pais podrá comenzar a trabajar con absoluta confianza.
