La Câmara Municipal de Campo Maior (Portugal) aprueba por unanimidad el 2 de marzo de 1981 la siguiente moción: 'Repudiar, firmemente, a tentativa de golpe de inspiração fascista, levado a efeito no passado dia 23 de Fevereiro em Espanha, para liquidar as liberdades democráticas e direitos conquistados pelos trabalhadores e pelo povo do País vizinho, constituindo motivo de regozijo para todos os portugueses de sentimentos democráticos que a acção com fins totalitários tenha fracassado.' The Câmara Municipal de Campo Maior (Portugal) unanimously approves on 2 March 1981 the following motion: 'To firmly repudiate the coup attempt of fascist inspiration carried out on 23 February in Spain to liquidate democratic freedoms and rights won by workers and the people of the neighbouring country, constituting cause for joy for all Portuguese with democratic sentiments that the totalitarian action has failed.'
